It’s that time of year again, where we invite all members to join us to review the past year and elect the committee.
Following three years as President of the Art Exchange, Susanne Rae Jones is stepping back to an ordinary committee member role.
Susanne has devoted much time and energy to improving governance, operational processes, local engagement and positioning the organisation up for ongoing success, BHAE is ready to handover to new leadership. This means we are looking for a new President and invite interested parties to get in touch. Please scroll down for a personal message.

It’s time to go!
It’s time for me to step aside so that fresh ideas and opportunities can emerge. BHAE is a fabulous organisation I have been proud to offer my services for the past 4 years. (one as Secretary and three as President).
I plan to stay on the committee (if elected) and will continue to volunteer at the Art Exchange and run workshops. Being part of the Broken Hill Art Exchange has been a wonderful way for me to meet and engage with the Broken Hill community and I have made some fabulous life long friends. Meeting the artists visiting from out of town has been inspiring and rewarding as they explore the landscape, meet with community and create artwork in response.
My wish is that the Broken Hill Art Exchange continues to go from strength to strength.
The new president steps into the role of a well-structured organisation. I’m happy to talk you through whats involved. Tasks include chairing monthly meetings, representing the organisation at community events and meetings, keeping an overview of the organisation and governance, working with the community and volunteers on projects and events and above all having fun! On average 5 hours a week of your time.
Next steps for the organisation as I see them are
to find more suitable and accessible accommodation
secure funding for a paid position
Susanne
