Bring your favourite mark-making equipment and smartphone or other camera, and record some of the amazing surface textures on the historic buildings, ore body outcrop, tanks, plant and other mining infrastructure. We will then return to the studio to interpret our images through mark-making in rust, stitch, appliqué and other techniques that appeal. The result will be a series of sketches and samples that can be further developed into finished work without the pressure of completing an actual project in the workshop.
